Dedicated to the work of Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger and all the other people, both actors and technicians who helped them make those wonderful films. A lot of the documents have been sent to me or have come from other web sites. The name of the web site is given where known. If I have unintentionally included an image or document that is copyrighted or that I shouldn't have done then please email me and I'll remove it. I make no money from this site, it's purely for the love of the films. [Any comments are by me (Steve Crook) and other members of the email list] |
- 1.3. How Do I Post A Message?
- Easy, just send an email message to PnP@groups.io !! It will then be sent to all members of the group.
The Powell and Pressburger Appreciation Society (PaPAS) group is an email forum for the announcement of screenings, talks, festivals, lectures, salons, book, videos, DVDs etc. or other news about the films or the people who made them. The forum is also happy to accommodate discussions of issues, ideas and questions about the films or the people.
Being an announcement and discussion forum, if you reply to a PaPAS post your reply will go back to the forum, and will thus be broadcast to all the members. If you just wish to email the poster of the message then you should copy their email address and compose a message directly for them.
PaPAS is an unmoderated forum and messages do not have to go through the owner to be posted -- your message will go directly to all forum members.
Send to: PnP@groups.io
So please post your news, comments, queries about the films or people, or perhaps a few words commenting on a film you saw or an event you attended recently.
Netiquette: please send only plain-text (ascii) emails, not html or formatted text (these and any attachments will be stripped out before the email is sent to the forum - it's an anti-virus precaution). Delete quoted text that isn't relevent to your reply -- don't re-send text everyone has already read. Check message has suitable subject line, e.g. don't leave 'Re: Digest 128' as your subject line.
- 1.3.1. What Can I Ask Or Comment On?
- Just about anything to do with Powell & Pressburger and anyone else involved in making their films.
We allow one (or maybe two) degrees of separation, so discussion of films by people directly involved with P&P films is OK but you'll have to convince us of the relevance of anything with a more remote connection.
If there's anything you don't know or aren't sure about - do please ask. Nobody knows everything and we're all willing to learn (& help others learn).
