Kim Hunter

Kim Hunter, the Oscar-winning actor, has died of natural causes at her New York apartment. She was 79. Blacklisted during the McCarthy era, Hunter remains best known for her Oscar-winning role as the long-suffering Stella Kowalski, opposite Marlon Brando and Vivien Leigh, in A Streetcar Named Desire. She also co-starred in the classic A Matter of Life and Death and cropped up as a kindly ape in the original version of The Planet of the Apes.
