Dedicated to the work of Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger and all the other people, both actors and technicians who helped them make those wonderful films. A lot of the documents have been sent to me or have come from other web sites. The name of the web site is given where known. If I have unintentionally included an image or document that is copyrighted or that I shouldn't have done then please email me and I'll remove it. I make no money from this site, it's purely for the love of the films. [Any comments are by me (Steve Crook) and other members of the email list] |
August 2005 at the NFT
The NFT are screening a series of Powell (& Pressburger) films in August 2005 to mark Michael's centenary. Sadly they've chosen that month to refurbish their main screen, NFT1, so that won't be available for any of the screenings.
The Michael Powell season at the NFT is presented by the bfi in association with the Edinburgh International Film Festival, with the support of Granada International.
After being shown at in London, these films will be shown at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and then at various locations around the country.
To tie in with the bfi's Michael Powell centenary celebrations, a special open-air screening of A Matter of Life and Death will be held in the magnificent courtyard at Somerset House during the Summer Screen week of 16-20 August, presented by FilmFour and Somerset House in association with the bfi.
