'An afternoon in Michael
Powell's Canterbury'Sunday, August 29, 2010
Join Paul Tritton and Steve Crook of the Powell & Pressburger Appreciation Society for a guided walk in the city that Michael Powell knew intimately in his boyhood.
We will explore the places he described so evocatively in his memoirs, find the locations where he filmed the final scenes for A Canterbury Tale, and complete our 'pilgrimage' with a visit to Canterbury Cathedral.
Meet at Dane John Tower on the City Wall in Dane John Gardens at 1.30pm.
Dane John Gardens are a five-minute walk from Canterbury East Railway Station and Canterbury Bus Station. There are several car parks nearby.
For a map visit www.canterbury.ac.ukNo need to book. Just turn up. Nothing to pay but please give generously to our collection in aid of Kent Kids Miles of Smiles Holiday Respite Home. NB: there is an £8 admission charge to the Cathedral (concessions £7).
This is a Powell & Pressburger Appreciation Society event
