Trips to Boston, Lincs (OOOAIM) - September 2009
Nick went exploring the locations used in One of Our Aircraft is Missing (1942) in October 2008 and then again in September 2009 when he added:
I think that I've found the location of the German garrison opposite the Bergomeister's house. Church House in Boston seems to meet all of the criteria. It's listed on Geograph as "By St. Botolph's church on Wormgate, described by Pevsner as "Boston's paramount example of Fen Artisan Mannerism", 17th century house that now serves as the Parish Office".
Here's the link to a photo of how it looks now.Compare that with the screen grabs from the film:
The School House
Cornelius, running home
Music blares
It comes from the post
Germans are shouting
Germans hunting for De Jong
See also Reviews of the film.
And a site with various views in and around Boston (Lincs, not Mass) where it was filmed.
