Dedicated to the work of Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger and all the other people, both actors and technicians who helped them make those wonderful films. A lot of the documents have been sent to me or have come from other web sites. The name of the web site is given where known. What did they do in PnP films?
- Behold a Pale Horse (1964)
- Gregory played Manuel Artiguez in this film of the Spanish Civil War based on Emeric's book "Killing a Mouse on Sunday".
- They're a Weird Mob! (1966)
- When Michael Powell went to option the book he found someone had beaten him to it. That someone was Mr Gegory Peck. They met up and Gregory told Michael that while they had been filming On the Beach (1959), Fred Astaire had read the book and passed it to Gregory who also read it & liked it. They both thought it's make a great film (possibly influenced by them being in Australia) and Gregory Peck optioned it. But when he got back to Hollywood he couldn't find anyone interested in producing it. After he met Powell they agreed he'd have one more attempt to find a backer & then pass the option over to Powell. He tried, but still couldn't find a backer - so Powell made the film.
