Thats a tough one but here goes. They worked with some of the most talented people in the business from the actors onscreen to the behind the scenes team that included a hugely impressive array of individuals in everything from camerawork to set design. All this talent would not make a good film if they had nothing to work from but Emeric was a fantastic and unique screenwriter whether it was coming up with his own ideas or adapting other peoples. This in collaboration with the extraordinary directing talent of Michael lead to a series of great films unsurpassed in British cinema. I've head the phase total cinema mentioned in connection with their work and I think that very aptly describes. it.
